About

Elly is a resource for help and answers to the questions we face coming to terms with a loved one’s memory loss.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s are terms we hear all the time—sometimes as an explanation, sometimes a diagnosis, sometimes because we just don’t know what to say. It’s hard to know whether these labels fit.

What’s most important is to research, to discuss with family members, and to plan a course of action. But, what is right for one person and family may not be right for another. Diagnosis is, especially in early stages, pretty non-specific. Course of care and recommendations are murky.

Given that more than 10% of Americans over 65 suffer from Dementia or Alzheimer’s, you’d expect there might be a roadmap or blueprint to follow. But there isn’t.

Elly provides the information and resources needed to make informed decisions about diagnosis, changes to expect, treatment options, and practical everyday solutions.

Our mission is to provide the most useful guidance and support for anyone dealing with or worried about memory loss.

This guidance and support comes through the voices of both experts and a community sharing what they've learned and ways they've coped—a combination of been-there-done-that wisdom plus clear step-by-step approaches to one of the most difficult chapters in life.

We started Elly in 2023, sandwiched between growing kids and aging parents, managing the hard realities of memory loss in loved ones. We thought: there ought to be a roadmap. We hope you find Elly helpful.
